Travel Planning takes Initiative at Team Valley
Workers, learners, shoppers and visitors to the Team Valley can benefit from a brand new service which can help them make informed choices about how they travel as well as an opportunity to save some money.
teamvalleylinks.com is a new Team Valley travel and community website which is supported by a Travel Centre at Maingate.
This unique resource is the result of a groundbreaking partnership between North East Property Partnership (Buildings for Business), Gateshead Council and the Highways Agency. The Workplace Travel Plan Company, the Travel Plan Coordinators for teamvalleylinks.com, have been appointed by Buildings for Business to drive activity forward. The website will offer employers, employees, students, shoppers and visitors travelling to the area sustainable transport solutions along with financial savings which could reduce the number of single car journeys and in turn reduce congestion on the supporting road networks.
In addition to the website and the Travel Centre, those working or living close to Team Valley will see the brightly coloured teamvalleylinks.com logo on posters and the 93 and 94 Loop buses serving the area.
Peter Wignall, Managing Director of the Workplace Travel Plan Company says ‘The website aims to be a ‘must visit' by providing information on real value and interest, ranging from sustainable and discounted travel to community forums and interest groups. Our aim is to offer the Team Valley community excellent benefits and great local offers'.
Michael Spriggs, Chief Executive of Buildings for Business said ‘We are pleased to be launching these initiatives which longer term we hope will make a positive impact on both the attractiveness of Team Valley and real sustainable transport solutions'.
